Our Story
The Kool family has been in the educational toy business for more than fifty years. It all started with grandmother Louise who opened Louise Kool & Son Ltd. in Toronto in the late fifties with son Morris. They were instrumental in opening up and developing Canada's educational supply trade. They were among the first to source and import specialty European brands and other hard-to-find items.
In its present incarnation, Kool & Child, run by father Morris and daughter Carolyn, has been serving Nanaimo and the mid-island community for over 15 years. Morris, now eighty, still has an active hand in the business ensuring that we carry on the family tradition of providing quality toys with lasting play value. It's a philosophy the Kool family have adhered to for half a century and it's our promise to you.
